Ways to Empower Your Employees to Action

People like to get involved in helping the community, and with your workplace campaign, they can have fun and make a real impact. Make sure you are doing these four things for employees:

Excite

Advertising events and campaign dates early, often, and everywhere will make a difference. To help you, we have provided posters, impact stories, nonprofit videos and incentive ideas to make it more appealing for employees to participate. Remember, people give when they understand the need and impact of their gift, but incentives are a good way to build excitement and participation.

Engage

Having more people participate in the campaign equates to a bigger impact on the community and more to celebrate. Special events like a 5K Walk/Run, Silent Auction, or Scavenger Hunt could encourage participation, competition, and teamwork. Collaborate with employee resource groups and company leaders to launch your campaign forward from the start.

Educate

Providing resources for employees to use and share puts the tools for change in their hands. Employees who are informed and educated about the impact they are making and the participating nonprofits are more likely to give and give generously. Use our impact stories and nonprofit videos to illustrate the power of giving, or host a philanthrobreak for a more hands on connection with nonprofits and their missions.

Empower

Connecting employees to the work of nonprofits and to the campaign through Employee Champions — people who share their story about why they give or volunteer — harnesses the power of personal testimonies to encourage action. Giving and volunteering are personal choices. When your colleagues share their stories with each other, they can empower others to follow their lead.
