Department Fundraising

Create friendly competition between departments in your company by organizing teams and have each team member create their own fundraising pages on the campaign website. Individual fundraising pages collect donations toward personal goals, contributes to the team goal, and rolls up to the overall company campaign.

  • From just seven donors, the average individual fundraiser raises about $568.

  • Each person who starts their own page has the ability to share their own story and explain why the cause is meaningful to them, individualizing the fundraiser and appealing to their community of family and friends.

  • By implementing peer-to-peer fundraising in your organization, you broaden the impact mission of the company to an audience outside the company’s walls.

  • It’s best to set start date and end dates for the company campaign to create a sense of urgency.

Leaderboards

Create leaderboards to track which teams have raised the most money and show them publicly to amp up the competition.

Trackable links

Once an employee has joined a campaign, create a trackable link for them to credit donations to individual team members. This will get them one spot higher on the leaderboard and they will be notified when donations are made.

Personalized pages for each team member

Creating customizable pages for employees is important and will only give them a competitive advantage over their team. Personalized pages allow employees to include their story for why the organization is meaningful to them, insert relevant photos, and decorate the page in the colors and fonts that fit their personality best. Donors are more likely to donate to a page that is more unique and curated.

Incentivize your team

In order to motivate the different departments within your organization, offer a reward to the team that raises the most money. Consider offering incentives such as gift cards, a day off, or a special experience, or even something like publicly recognizing their efforts on social media will serve as a big motivator.

Match donations

In order to encourage fundraising among your company, consider matching the donation of the department within your organization that raises the most money or has reached a specific goal.

Keep participants in the loop

Inform participants about the progress of the campaign through email notifications with updates, as well as automatically updated leaderboards.
